?redit repair work?d fine to fix my credit. They disputed and removed lots of bad items from my credit report. I used this service – creditreport.fateback.com
Check this out asap. http://www.helpwithmycredit.org. both visa and mastercard have partnered with many different credit card companies to offer consumers solutions during these hard times. all of the credit repair agencies listed on this website are legitimate and can help you.
However most of the other credit repair agencies you come across are scams either stating they will remove bad items off your credit report or somehow instantly give you a good credit rating. this is not possible.
you can repair your credit yourself without going through any credit repair agency (whether legitimate or not). if there is something negative on your credit report you wont be able to get it removed unless the item is incorrect (ie its not your credit card and you are a victim of identity theft or there is just some kind of error). if the item is incorrect you can either contact the creditor or the credit bureau to dispute the item. this is free you dont have to pay any credit repair agency to do this for you.
if you are having problems paying your bills you can contact the creditor directly and ask if they are willing to set up a payment arrangement and lower your minimum payments. again you dont need to contact a credit repair agency to do this.
if you dont feel comfortable doing this yourself or if your creditors are unwilling to work with you then by all means contact the repair agencies listed on the site i mentioned. they are all nationally accreditated credit counseling agencies.
even if you dont want there services they are a great resource for any questions you have about managing your credit. they will even help you create a monthly so that you can stay within your means.
They’re good at taking money from your wallet. Avoid the temptation to pay a “credit repair” firm, they cannot remove accurate negative info. If you’ve had recent defaults, charge-offs, late pays, then you need to understand that your credit will be affected for at least two years after these events happened…and that these items can stay for 7 years on your credit report.
There is, however, one trick that “may” help to remove negatives from your credit files. You don’t have to pay anyone to do this.
Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act you have the right to request written validation of negative entries on your credit files. Per this law they must validate the item(s) within 30 days or remove them from your credit file. Mail a letter via certified mail with return receipt to all three credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion & Experian). Include a photocopy of your driver’s license and social security card…If you don’t include these, they may write back requesting them, which would slow the process down by several weeks. For each negative item, write a separate letter and simply include the phrase:
Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I am requesting written validation of this item.
Do this one at a time for each negative entry….DO NOT request validation for all items at one time.
There is NO guarantee that this will work….It may give some decent results. The worst that can happen is that all negative items come back verified
It is a rip off
The only thing they are *good* at is taking a fee from you and leaving your credit score worse off than when you started with them.
If you need help with your debts, consult with a member of CCCS. Credit counseling does not cost a dime and will help you budget, work out a plan to reduce or stop interest on your credit cards and get your debt paid off!
Any firm that says they can *hide* things on your report is looking to take your money then *hide* from you!
They don’t “hide” anything, you can’t “hide” anything. What they do is trick you into filing bankruptcy…they make it sound like a sweet deal…check out mycreditkeeper.com
..it’s more accurate than freecreditreport.com, it’s free, it gives you all 3 credit agencies and gives you tools to repair your score…if you go to one of these “fix it” cats, you’re screwing yourself.
Credit repair can only be achieved through financial discipline and hard work. Any easy way out of a poor credit history is undoubtedly tempting, but it may lead to further financial difficulties in the future.
They don’t “hide’ anything. They help you correct or upgrade less than positive items from your 3 reports which in turn will raise your credit score. Sincerly, Skip Mull.
